Conflict Management and Mitigation Program
New Awards Announcement |November 2015
The USAID West Bank and Gaza (WBG) Mission and U.S. Embassy Tel Aviv are awarding 15 new grants that focus on people-to-people activities. These new grants, valued at $9 million, show an investment in bringing people together and promoting peaceful coexistence. The Conflict Management and Mitigation (CMM) Program is part of a worldwide effort to bring together individuals of different backgrounds from areas of conflicts in reconciliation activities. Since the program’s start in 2004, USAID WBG and U.S. Embassy Tel Aviv invested in 99 CMM grants.
CMM grants bring together Israelis and Palestinians to work on issues of common concern and promote peaceful coexistence. These activities provide opportunities to address issues, reconcile differences, and promote greater understanding and mutual trust by working in common goals such as economic development, environment, health, education, sports, music, and information technology.
